  President Bola Tinubu has identified the creative economy as a pivotal element of his administration’s economic diversification agenda, reaffirming his commitment to positioning Nigeria’s creative sector as a driving force for global influence. The President stated this at the launch of the 2024 Abuja International Carnival at Eagle Square, Abuja. President Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, said the carnival reaffirms the essence of who Nigerians are—”a people of culture, a people of art, a people of colour, and a people of shared values”. Former Bauchi Deputy Director of Lands Jailed for Land Scam

Justice Abubarka Muazu of Bauchi State High Court, on February 21, 2022 convicted and sentenced a former Deputy Director of Planning in Bauchi State Ministry of Land and Survey, Ibrahim Aliyu to twenty seven months imprisonment for obtaining money by false pretences and cheating. He was convicted following a two- count charge brought against him by the Gombe Zonal Command of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. 

Aliyu sometime in May 2015 dishonestly induced one Mustapha Bala to deliver to him the sum of One Million, One Hundred Thousand Naira (N1, 100,000) for sale of a plot of land situated at BSADP Quarters, Bauchi which belonged to His Royal Highness, Usman Bilyaminu Usman, the Emir of Dass, without his consent.

He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced accordingly to three months with option of N50,000.00. (Fifty Thousand Naira only) fine on count one and two years imprisonment with option of N100,000 fine (One Hundred Thousand Naira) only fine on count two.
