 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. Former Bauchi Deputy Director of Lands Jailed for Land Scam

Justice Abubarka Muazu of Bauchi State High Court, on February 21, 2022 convicted and sentenced a former Deputy Director of Planning in Bauchi State Ministry of Land and Survey, Ibrahim Aliyu to twenty seven months imprisonment for obtaining money by false pretences and cheating. He was convicted following a two- count charge brought against him by the Gombe Zonal Command of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. 

Aliyu sometime in May 2015 dishonestly induced one Mustapha Bala to deliver to him the sum of One Million, One Hundred Thousand Naira (N1, 100,000) for sale of a plot of land situated at BSADP Quarters, Bauchi which belonged to His Royal Highness, Usman Bilyaminu Usman, the Emir of Dass, without his consent.

He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced accordingly to three months with option of N50,000.00. (Fifty Thousand Naira only) fine on count one and two years imprisonment with option of N100,000 fine (One Hundred Thousand Naira) only fine on count two.
