 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. CEREMONIAL ACTIVITIES IN ANAMBRA: CP ECHENG URGES RESIDENTS TO ALWAYS INFORM THE POLICE & OTHER SECURITY AGENTS

The Commissioner of Police, *CP Echeng Echeng* worried today 13/3/22 about attacks witnessed during ceremonial activities in the state, urge the good people of Anambra to always inform the police and other security agents of the venue, date and time of their events . This shall enable Police access the area to make sure no security breach is experienced before during and after the activity.

On the two unfortunate incidents witnessed in the state, though Police where not informed of these burial events before it began,  the Command wishes to inform the general public on the incident in Ebenebe, Awka North LGA. Police have arrested some persons, helping with information towards the ongoing  investigation and recover a Toyota Camry used by the attackers while in Ndingbu village, Nnewi-North LGA, operation is still ongoing aimed at rescuing the abducted and arresting the perpetrators to bring them to book.

The *CP* while reaffirming the command’s commitment towards consolidating on the gains in crime prevention, restoration of law and order and improving safety and security of lives in the state, assures that the Police, the military and other Security Agencies are firm to contain any security situation that may arise.
