  Tragedy Strikes As Promising Councillor Hon. Chukwuma Okpalauzuegbu Is Laid To Rest On Intended wedding Day  By Charity Ejiofor  A day that was meant to mark a joyful union has instead become one of deep sorrow for family, friends, and the Aguata community, following the sudden passing of Hon. Chukwuma Christopher Okpalauzuegbu, the councillor representating Amesi Ward. Hon. Okpalauzuegbu fondly known as Chuma, had been preparing to celebrate his wedding ceremony, an event filled with hope, promise and carefully laid plans. Loved ones, and sponsors, ready to stand beside him as he embark on a new chapter of life. In an unexpected and heart breaking turn of events, those dreams were cut short. #ASUU Strike: Motorists Stranded As Students Block Lagos-ibadan Expressway

Hundreds of commuters were stranded on Tuesday along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, following a protest by the National Association of Nigerian Students.

The students had blocked the expressway, protesting the ongoing one-month warning strike imposed upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, having failed to strike a bargain with the Federal Government vis-a-vis the 2009 FG-ASUU Agreement.

“Our time is being wasted. Age will be against us by the time we graduate and go into the labour market.

“We will be forced to pay extra rents as most of us are staying in private hostels while some of our colleagues will be distracted, discouraged and will probably jettison schooling for illegal activities,” NANS Chairman in Ogun State, Mr Damilola Simeon said.
