 Carrick favourite for Man Utd caretaker role Michael Carrick has emerged as favourite to be appointed Manchester United caretaker head coach, according to sources close to the process. Club chiefs are hoping to have an appointment in place for when players return to training on Wednesday. While a final decision is yet to be reached, talks are said to have progressed with the 44-year-old over the position. Carrick previously had a three-game stint as United's temporary boss following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal in 2021. He won two and drew one of those matches but left after Ralf Rangnick's arrival as interim manager. Solskjaer held face-to-face discussions with the club on Saturday about a return. United sacked Ruben Amorim as manager after 14 months in the job on 5 January. GUNMEN HAVE KILLED 4-PEOPLE INCLUDING TWO BROTHERS IN ANAMBRA STATE IN THE LAST THREE DAYS.(PHOTOS).

Gunmen have k1lled four people including two brothers in Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Local Government Areas of Anambra State in the last three days.

The latest development is coming few days after gunmen k1lled five people at a beer parlour in Osumenyi, Nnewi South.

The brothers identified as Godwin Ikechukwu Modobi and Nnajiofor Modobi, of the same parents, were k1lled in Ukpor, the Headquarters of Nnewi South on Monday, May 2. 

Two others were mürdered along Udorji Road, beside St. Mary’s Church, Ozubulu, in Ekwusigo on Monday May 2. 

Godwin Ikechukwu Modobi popularly known as Obere was a former Youth Chairman in Ukpor community.

It Was gathered that the Gunmen first k1lled Nnajiofor right in their house when they invaded their home in the wee hours of Monday, after which they bl!ndfolded and abducted Godwin, whom they also eventually k1lled close to Utuh Junction and dümped his corpse in the middle of the road.

Büllets were also sighted close to the bl00d!ed corpse, with büll3t wounds on his chest and other parts of the body.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
