 GOVERNOR UZODIMMA CALLS FOR LOVE, UNITY, HIGHLIGHTS PROGRESS IN IMO STATE  In his Easter message delivered after the Holy Eucharist at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Parish in Omuma, Oru East LGA, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma CON, emphasized the central theme of the Easter season — Love. The Governor called on citizens to extend the spirit of Easter beyond mere celebration, encouraging them to embody love, unity, and compassion in their daily interactions and civic responsibilities. He commended the people of Imo State for their steadfast commitment to these virtues and urged continued efforts to promote a caring and united society. Peter Obi’s Media Aide Debunks Rumours Of Attack

Media aide to the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Mr Peter Obi, Valentine Obienyem, has debunked rumour making round that his boss was attacked in Abuja.

Obienyem in a statement urged the public to ignore the rumour and described it as a falsehood.

He said Peter Obi is hale and hearty.

According to him, “The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and by the grace of God, fueled by his merit, the next President of Nigeria, Mr Peter Obi, is back to the country. In the last three weeks, he traversed the world, convincing Nigerians of the need to take back their country and move in sync with the rest of the world.

“Kindly ignore the falsehood making the rounds that he was attacked. May God forbid that even the very thought of such barbarism be visited on him.

“Obi has consistently reiterated his belief that politics should always be devoid of violence. This remains his political credo.

“It is pertinent to note that the news, coming shortly after Festus Keyamo’s press release, alleging a plan by Obi to stage manage his own assassination is worrisome. It shows that the devil may be at work in endless and familiar scheming.

“We shall continue to entrust Mr Peter Obi into the protection of the Almighty, while he ensures he is adequately protected to see through the work of re-building Nigeria that providence has entrusted unto him.”

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
