 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. HEADS OF SECURITY AGENCIES AND PARA MILITARY ORGANIZATIONS MEETS IN HQ 2 DIVISION NA IBADAN


The General Officer Commanding 2 Division Maj Gen Aminu Chinade today 16 November 2022 hosted all Heads of Security  and Para Military Agencies in Oyo State to brainstorm on the rising wave of criminality in Ibadan and environs as well as kidnappings on the Lagos- Ibadan Express Road.

In his opening remarks, Gen Chinade called for more concerted efforts from all and sundry to tackle the recent rise in criminality and advocated for more synergy to stop this dastardly acts on the Lagos- Ibadan Express Road by this undesirable elements. Also, the GOC solicited for better ideas in  information sharing and monitoring among the security agencies. This the GOC believes will put the security agencies ahead in planning robust ways of countering the nefarious activities of this hoodlums.

The meeting is the first in the series as it generated frank discussions from all and an agreement that such meetings should  regularly hold to address issues that boarder on security speedily. 

In attendance includes- the Commander 671 Nigerian Air Force  Detachment, the Commissioner of Police Oyo State, Director State Services and other Heads of Security Agencies in Oyo State.
