15-year-old Jaylen's huge catch has been officially certified as the biggest catch in the state of Ohio! Congratulations, Jaylen!  ---------------------------------------- 15-year-old Ohio girl reels in a record breaking catch!  Jaylen Parker was jugging (using a Clorox bottle and 200 lb test line) on the Ohio River, an activity her and her dad have shared since early childhood. Little did she know she was getting ready to have the fishing story of a lifetime.   Jaylen pulled in a 101.11 lb blue catfish, an Ohio state record if confirmed by the state!  Jaylen admits her dad and his friend helped her wrangle in this massive fish. She says she only weighs 10 lbs more than her humongous catch so there was no way she could have pulled it in by herself. After weighing, documenting and photographing this ancient creature from the depths of the Ohio River she released it back to continue its fish life.  Great job Jaylen we are all waiting for the official confirmation with you!

GOV. ORTOM TO KIDNAPPERS: BENUE WILL NOT TOLERATE YOU

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has sent out a warning to kidnappers operating in the state, stating that he will not relent on the war against their activities.

Ortom disclosed this on Thursday following his sympathy visit to his Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Chief Ekpe Ogbu who was recently kidnapped by herdsmen.

He said, “We are not going to relent on this war and there is no way we will compromise and allow kidnappers to have their way in this state.

“I challenge our people to rise up and not to allow kidnappers in their communities. When you suspect them, don’t hesitate to involve the security agencies so that they will not come back again.

“There is no way we can add value to the development of our state when we have kidnappers all over the place terrorising our communities.

“There is no way foreigners will come here and invest in our state with challenges like this. There is no way we can do everything on our own and make things work. So we must stop this.

“I want to use this medium to send a message to the kidnappers. Benue State will not tolerate this and we are going to move very hard.”
