 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Federal Lawmaker Obidigwe Offers Primary To University Level Scholarship To New Born Twins In Anambra West



The member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe has offered scholarships to newly born twins, Chisom and Chinecherem from Umudora Anam, Anambra West Local Government Area. 

Hon. Obidigwe during the visit to the twins said that the scholarship will run from primary school to the University level, and donated three hundred thousand naira to the twins, even as he added that the twins and their parent will come for two weeks hospitality visit to Abuja.

The father of the children, Mr. Monday Azuka Anidebe, on behalf of his family appreciated the Lawmaker for his magnanimity towards his family and the people of the federal constituency in general and prayed God to bless him.

Mr. Anidebe maintained that Hon. Obidigwe has done tremendously well in office and urged Ndi Anambra East and West Federal Constituency to re-elect the Lawmaker in the forthcoming general elections for continuous development of the area.

The member representing Anambra West Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Patrick Obalum-Udoba, the Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra West Local Government Area, Mr. Felix Ikechi, among numerous others were also present during the visit.
