  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms. Federal Lawmaker Obidigwe Offers Primary To University Level Scholarship To New Born Twins In Anambra West



The member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe has offered scholarships to newly born twins, Chisom and Chinecherem from Umudora Anam, Anambra West Local Government Area. 

Hon. Obidigwe during the visit to the twins said that the scholarship will run from primary school to the University level, and donated three hundred thousand naira to the twins, even as he added that the twins and their parent will come for two weeks hospitality visit to Abuja.

The father of the children, Mr. Monday Azuka Anidebe, on behalf of his family appreciated the Lawmaker for his magnanimity towards his family and the people of the federal constituency in general and prayed God to bless him.

Mr. Anidebe maintained that Hon. Obidigwe has done tremendously well in office and urged Ndi Anambra East and West Federal Constituency to re-elect the Lawmaker in the forthcoming general elections for continuous development of the area.

The member representing Anambra West Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Patrick Obalum-Udoba, the Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra West Local Government Area, Mr. Felix Ikechi, among numerous others were also present during the visit.
