The Edo State House of Assembly has removed Hon. Natasha Osawaru Irobosa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from her position as Minority Leader, marking a significant shift in the chamber’s leadership structure. The announcement, made on Monday, is part of a broader restructuring triggered by recent political defections. Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian, also of the PDP, was similarly stripped of her role as Majority Leader. Meanwhile, Hon. Yekini Idaiye, another PDP lawmaker, lost his position as Chief Whip. Despite the shake-up, PDP lawmakers Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Hon. Maria Edeko have held onto their roles as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively—for now. The changes stem from a letter submitted by Jarret Tenebe, acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, following the defection of four PDP lawmakers to the APC. My Dear Legends and Divas, 

That time has come again in the course of our nation's history when we are all expected to perform our civic responsibility by going out there to cast our votes for our preferred candidate. 
This month's INDUSTRY NITE therefore, is put on hold to enable us reminisce and reassess our current political status as a nation, so as to enable us cast our vote for that candidate we believe can take us out of this quagmire. 
Remember that as entertainers, we are usually the first casualties each time the economy goes down therefore we need to be very wise in our choice of candidate. 

CIG is a non-partisan and non-denominational organisation, but a major stakeholder in the politics of Nigeria as a nation. Please do not sit on the fence or stay aloof during this electoral exercise as we reap what we sow and you cannot harvest yam if you planted rice. So, please let’s do the right thing.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
