 Ex-NHIS Boss Accuses Tinubu of Using EFCC to Silence Critics Professor Usman Yusuf, former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of deploying the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to suppress dissent, claiming he was treated like a criminal to silence his criticism of the government. The allegations were made during an interview on Sunday, April 27, 2025. Yusuf, who was arraigned by the EFCC in February 2025 on a five-count fraud charge before the Federal Capital Territory High Court, pleaded not guilty. He described his detention as a targeted effort to intimidate him, stating, “This government deliberately denied me bail to shake me up… all to try and silence me. Actor Yul Edochie and wife, May, lose their first son, Kambilichukwu

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie and his wife, May, are bereaved as they lost their first son, Kambilichukwu Leo Yul-Edochie, on Wednesday, March 29. 

According to reports, Kambilichukwu had read throughout the night on Tuesday in preparation for his exams on Wednesday. After his examination on Wednesday, he joined his friends to play football. While playing, he slumped and developed a seizure. He was immediately rushed to the Mother and Child hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Kambilichukwu turned 16 in January 2023 and his parents took to social media to celebrate him.

So sad! May his soul rest in peace, Amen.
