 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Portable Celebrates Release from Prison, Shares Food Items to Fans. 

Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, recently took to the streets to distribute food items to some residents of Lagos State.

The Zazoo crooner shared videos of philanthropic gestures via his Instagram page.

In the videos, the singer was seen distributing food items such as rice, bread, and drinks amongst others to some of his fans.

He also shared footwear and other non-edibles with the less-privileged.

His generous act is coming barely 48 hours after he was freed from detention.

Recall that Portable was arrested by police operatives on Friday after failing to honour invitations extended to him and was arraigned in court on Monday on a three-count charge bothering on assault and theft of musical equipment.

However, he was granted bail in the sum of N800,000 for the three charges with two sureties in like sum, by an Ogun State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ifo.

The Magistrate ordered that the singer be remanded at the correctional centre in Ilaro pending the perfection of the bail conditions. He was later freed after perfecting his bail conditions.

After his release, Portable had promised to turn a new leaf.

The case was adjourned to the 26th of April for the commencement of trial.
