 Texas woman charged with medical child abuse for falsifying toddler’s health and pushing unnecessary feeding tube surgeries A Texas woman has been charged with medical child abuse after allegedly falsifying her toddler’s medical history to pressure doctors into performing unnecessary procedures, including feeding tube surgeries, in what authorities are calling a “sickening” case. Kaitlyn Rose Laura, 31, faces charges of injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officials said she deliberately misled medical staff about her 3-year-old son’s health to obtain a gastrostomy tube and later a gastrojejunostomy tube, despite no documented medical need. Investigators allege that hospital staff observed the boy eating normally while Laura claimed he refused all food. Covert surveillance confirmed the child was able to eat meals without difficulty, prompting authorities to stop tube feedings.  EFCC Arraigns Ma’sha Allah  Intl  Promoter, Usman for Alleged Multi-million Naira Fraud in Lagos


The Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, arraigned one Muhammed Usman and his firm, Masha Allah International Resources Limited, on a five count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing before  before Justice I.O. Ijelu of the State High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos. 


He pleaded "not guilty" to the five counts. 


Following his plea, the prosecution counsel, Ahmed Yerima, prayed the court for a trial date "to enable the prosecution assemble its witnesses and for an order of the court remanding the defendant at a custodial facility.”


The defence counsel, J.H. Bashir, however, pleaded with the court for the defendant to  be remanded in the EFCC custody, adding that “ We are in the process of bringing a formal bail application before the court with same to be served on the prosecution soon".


Justice Ijelu ordered the defendant to be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility, and adjourned the case till Monday, June 19, 2023 for trial.


Meanwhile, Usman was also arraigned before Justice Ijelu on a separate four-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence and stealing. 


He also pleaded "not guilty" to the four counts.


The case was also adjourned till June 19, 2023 for trial.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
