 Texas woman charged with medical child abuse for falsifying toddler’s health and pushing unnecessary feeding tube surgeries A Texas woman has been charged with medical child abuse after allegedly falsifying her toddler’s medical history to pressure doctors into performing unnecessary procedures, including feeding tube surgeries, in what authorities are calling a “sickening” case. Kaitlyn Rose Laura, 31, faces charges of injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officials said she deliberately misled medical staff about her 3-year-old son’s health to obtain a gastrostomy tube and later a gastrojejunostomy tube, despite no documented medical need. Investigators allege that hospital staff observed the boy eating normally while Laura claimed he refused all food. Covert surveillance confirmed the child was able to eat meals without difficulty, prompting authorities to stop tube feedings. Two Internet Fraudsters Bag Two Years Imprisonment in Kaduna

The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, May 11, 2023, secured the convicted of the duo of Salim Bashir and Khalid Ola Abdulwasiu before Justices Darius Khobo and A.A Bello respectively of the Kaduna State High Court, Kaduna, on  separate one count charge bordering internet fraud. 

The convicts were arrested at a hotel in Barnawa, Kaduna in a sting operation prompted by intelligence on their alleged internet fraud-related activities. Investigation established that they had impersonated several personalities in the social media and used the false identities to defraud unsuspecting victims.

They both pleaded guilty to the charges.

Prosecution counsel, E.K. Garba urged the courts to convict them as charged.

Justice Khobo convicted and sentenced Salim to two years imprisonment with an option of fine of N100,000.00(One Hundred Thousand naira). He was also ordered to forfeit one Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max being the instrument used in committing the offence and the sum of $250(Two Hundred and Fifty USD)  which was recovered  from him, to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Similarly, Justice Bello, convicted and sentenced Khalid  to two years imprisonment or a fine of N100,000.00(One Hundred Thousand Naira). He is also to forfeit one Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max and the sum of $200(Two Hundred USD)  to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
