The New Commissioner of Police of Anambra State, Mr Aderemi Adeoye has stated that being posted to Anambra State is like a homecoming for him.                               He made this submission after what he called "a robust discussion" with the Deputy Governor Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim whom he had paid a courtesy visit.

Police Commissioner Adeoye made the firm promise to sustain the security infrastructure already in place in Anambra State.

He pledged to provide the needed leadership to generate intelligence policing for ndi-Anambra.              "I am not new to Anambra," he said, adding, "In the 90's I served for 10 years here."

He disclosed that he was the Deputy Commissioner in charge of Operations.                  He also supervised the elections that brought Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo to power alongside the State House of Assembly polls. "I am at home with the culture of the people," he said, revealing that he had enjoyed the greater part of his career among the people.

He assured of providing unprecedented level of security from where his predecessor, Mr Echeng Echeng, who has been promoted to the rank of AIG, left off.

He stated that Anambra people are industrious and hardworking people who only need a secure environment to prosper.

For Mr Aderemi Adeoye, the task is to work assiduously to offer a sense of security to the people of Anambra State.

"When they call once, we answer twice!" he concluded.
