 The credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters’ register has come under intense scrutiny ahead of the 2027 general elections, following revelations by INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan that names of deceased persons remain on the register. Amupitan disclosed that names of voters who died as far back as 15 years ago are still listed, a situation critics say could undermine the integrity of the 2027 polls and lead to significant financial waste through the printing of excess ballot papers and other election logistics. The INEC chairman made the revelation while receiving the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and her management team during a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday. Lost boy found in Abuja, says he escaped from his uncle's house because the labour was too much for him

The police in Asokoro, Abuja is seeking to reunite a young boy, Msuhgter Aodohemba,  with his family in Benue State. 
 
According to a post shared by Benue activist, Ukan Kurugh on Thursday, July 20, 2023, the boy said he escaped from his uncle's house because the labour was too much for him. 
 
“LOST AND FOUND. This boy is by name MSUHGTER AONDOHEMBA, he told me he was staying with his grandmother and grandfather by name ASHEKUMA NEGE and ATUUR NEGE at behind modern market Makurdi,” the post read. 
 
“His grandmother's brother NENKEHEMEN took him to Yoruba land (No state name) but the labour was too much for him and he escaped. He is presently at ASOKORO DIVISION ABUJA. I went there today and the police officer told me to help her reunite him with his family. If anyone knows the family, tell them to contact DSP ESTHER on 08033582725”
