 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. 56-YEAR OLD MAN, ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY DEFILING 11 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER.

One Mr Ọkpara, a 56 year old man has been arrested for allegedly defiling 11 year old daughter in Anambra.

The 56 year old suspect who is resident in Fegge Onitsha is a native of Adazi-Enu in Anaocha local government area of the state.

This was made reported when a good Samaritan noticed that the young girl is limping, upon interrogation she revealed that the father usually do have carnal knowledge of her every night and threatened to kill her if she ever tells anyone hence the reason why she hasn't raised alarm. 

According to the victim, the suspect who is her father started taking advantage of her after her mother's death in 2020 and became overly protective of her by not allowing other family members, friends and relatives to come close. 

Although Mr Ọkpara denied the allegation stating in his defense that his daughter's inability to work properly is because she fell from the refrigerator, but test results from the hospital where the victim was taken to says otherwise.

Reacting to the news, the women and social welfare Commissioner, Obinabo who deployed her staff to the scene of the incident promised to get to the bottom of the case assuring that justice must prevail.

Meanwhile the suspect will be arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Magistrate court in Awka on Wednesday
