 Carrick favourite for Man Utd caretaker role Michael Carrick has emerged as favourite to be appointed Manchester United caretaker head coach, according to sources close to the process. Club chiefs are hoping to have an appointment in place for when players return to training on Wednesday. While a final decision is yet to be reached, talks are said to have progressed with the 44-year-old over the position. Carrick previously had a three-game stint as United's temporary boss following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal in 2021. He won two and drew one of those matches but left after Ralf Rangnick's arrival as interim manager. Solskjaer held face-to-face discussions with the club on Saturday about a return. United sacked Ruben Amorim as manager after 14 months in the job on 5 January. ATIKU FILED A FRESH SUIT AGAINST PRESIDENT TINUBU, IN THE US.(PHOTO).

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has filed a fresh suit against President Bola Tinubu, in the US.

Disclosing this to newsmen, the Special Assistant on Public communications to Atiku, Phrank Shaibu, in a statement released, said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, withdrew the case against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois County, in the United States of America because he filed a fresh case against the President in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

 
The Circuit Court of Cook County had dismissed Atiku’s lawsuit seeking to get access to Tinubu’s educational records at the Chicago State University. In the statement released on Sunday, August 6, Shaibu said Atiku Abubakar only ‘’withdrew the case before a Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois County, United States of America because he is pursuing the same matter in a higher court and he wanted to avoid an abuse of court processes. So, this is just the beginning.”

Atiku’s aide said it was funny that Tinubu and his supporters were rejoicing over the development as if it were a Supreme Court judgment. He maintained that President Tinubu’s academic records from primary school to university remained questionable, hence the president’s failure to identify a single former classmate.

“In the last one week, Nigerians have been watching the ongoing ministerial screening at the Senate where nominees have been made to reveal their primary, secondary and university history. Some of the ministerial nominees were even classmates with the senators screening them.

However, the man who nominated them has no educational history. He has no primary school, secondary school or university classmates. This is because he has no classmates. He actually fell from the sky.

In recent years past, Presidents have invited their former classmates to Aso Rock Villa. Even President Muhammadu Buhari hosted his classmates from Katsina Middle School.  Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
