 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. IKE EKWEREMADU'S SON WEDS HEARTTHROB TIFFANY IN ABUJA.(PHOTOS).

Lloyd, son of former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu got married to his heartrob, Tiffany in Abuja on Saturday.


The Nation learnt top chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) including three former Senate Presidents – Anyim Pius Anyim, David Mark and Bukola Saraki – and PDP governorship candidate in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye, among others, stood in for Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice.


Ekweremadu, who represented Enugu West senatorial district in the Senate for about two decades, is being held in a UK prison with his wife Beatrice after they were found guilty of organ trafficking and sentenced to different jail terms in May, 2023.


The Nation reports that a UK Court sentenced the former Deputy Senate President and PDP chieftain to nine years and eight months in prison.


The court also sentenced Beatrice to four years and six months in prison while a doctor who allegedly colluded with them, Obinna Obeta, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
