 Carrick favourite for Man Utd caretaker role Michael Carrick has emerged as favourite to be appointed Manchester United caretaker head coach, according to sources close to the process. Club chiefs are hoping to have an appointment in place for when players return to training on Wednesday. While a final decision is yet to be reached, talks are said to have progressed with the 44-year-old over the position. Carrick previously had a three-game stint as United's temporary boss following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal in 2021. He won two and drew one of those matches but left after Ralf Rangnick's arrival as interim manager. Solskjaer held face-to-face discussions with the club on Saturday about a return. United sacked Ruben Amorim as manager after 14 months in the job on 5 January. Sanwo-Olu Gives Traders Two Days Ultimatum To Evacuate Railway Tracks 


The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has warned traders along railway tracks to evacuate their goods within two days.


During a visit to the Agege station of the Red Line Rail Project on Wednesday, the governor addressed some traders, saying that the rail way was not a market place and he did not want any loss of lives.


He said, "This is not a market. It is government road for transportation. I'm giving you two days to leave this place because we're coming to clear everything next week.


"You can't trade here at all. That is why I came to tell you myself. I want all of you out of here.


"We have spent a lot on this place for transportation. Trains will be passing here almost every ten minutes and I don't want lives to be wasted."

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
