 LASG PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO NEW ONIȘẸ OF ISE KINGDOM The Lagos State Government has presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Prince Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, as His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, the Onise of Ise Kingdom in Lekki Local Government Area. The presentation was performed on Friday, August 21, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, with the approval of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Executive Council, following the demise of the late Oba Ganiu Adebowale Adegbesan, Onise of Ise Kingdom. Man, 43, dies in Kwara fish pond


An unidentified 43- year- old man has died in a fish pond in Ilorin, Kwara state capital.


Spokesperson of Fire Service Hassan Adekunle said that the yet-to-be-identified deceased was gathering herbal leaves before the unfortunate incident.


According to Adekunle: “Kwara State Fire Service responded to an emergency call at Alibarika community in Ogidi, Ilorin South Local Government area, Kwara State, at approximately 6:24am on Saturday.


“The firefighters conducted a rescue operation and tragically discovered the lifeless body of an unidentified man, approximately 43 years of age, in an abandoned fish pond. 


“It is believed that the cause of this unfortunate incident was the man accidentally slipped into the pond, which was concealed by overgrown grasses. 


“He was near the pond, attempting to gather herbal leaves when the accident occurred.


“Following the successful recovery operation, the Kwara Fire Service personnel handed over the deceased to the authorities at Nigeria Police G’ Division in Oloje, Ilorin, for further investigation and necessary procedures.”


He urged the general public to be more careful in their day-to-day activities.
