 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. BENUE GOV MOURNS CATHOLIC PRIEST WHO SLUMPED AND LATER DIED



Alia prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest and grant the immediate family and the Church the fortitude to bear the huge loss.


Alia, in a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, described the death of the priest as a huge loss to the Church and Benue in general.


The governor condoled with the Catholic Bishop of Katsina-Ala Diocese, Most Rev. Isaac Dugu, the entire Catholic faithful and the Christian community over the incident.


“As a servant of God, Fr. Faustinus Gundu contributed to the spiritual growth and development of the Church and humanity for many years. His decades of service will not be easily forgotten,” Alia said.


Alia, who is also a Catholic Priest, prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest and grant the immediate family and the Church the fortitude to bear the huge loss.


Gundu was ordained a Catholic Priest in 1994.


Gundu, who slumped and was later confirmed dead, was the Parish Priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jootar, Ukum Local Government.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
