 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said. BENUE GOV MOURNS CATHOLIC PRIEST WHO SLUMPED AND LATER DIED



Alia prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest and grant the immediate family and the Church the fortitude to bear the huge loss.


Alia, in a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, described the death of the priest as a huge loss to the Church and Benue in general.


The governor condoled with the Catholic Bishop of Katsina-Ala Diocese, Most Rev. Isaac Dugu, the entire Catholic faithful and the Christian community over the incident.


“As a servant of God, Fr. Faustinus Gundu contributed to the spiritual growth and development of the Church and humanity for many years. His decades of service will not be easily forgotten,” Alia said.


Alia, who is also a Catholic Priest, prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest and grant the immediate family and the Church the fortitude to bear the huge loss.


Gundu was ordained a Catholic Priest in 1994.


Gundu, who slumped and was later confirmed dead, was the Parish Priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jootar, Ukum Local Government.
