  President Bola Tinubu has identified the creative economy as a pivotal element of his administration’s economic diversification agenda, reaffirming his commitment to positioning Nigeria’s creative sector as a driving force for global influence. The President stated this at the launch of the 2024 Abuja International Carnival at Eagle Square, Abuja. President Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, said the carnival reaffirms the essence of who Nigerians are—”a people of culture, a people of art, a people of colour, and a people of shared values”. Nigerian celebrities stepped out in grand style for the burial ceremony of award-winning music superstar, Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid’s late mother.
The Nation reported that Wizkid lost his mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun around 1.30 am on Friday, August 18th, 2023.
Following her demise, the family honored her with a grand burial ceremony for a life well spent.
On Friday night, Wizkid’s mom was finally laid to rest and celebrities came out in numbers to honor the deceased and support their colleague.
