  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. Sierra Leone Police Arrest Nigerian Man Declared Wanted For Allegedly Killing Girlfriend  

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed the arrest of one Benjamin Nnanyereugo for allegedly killing his girlfriend, Augusta Osedion, by the Sierra Leonean police force.

Speaking with our correspondent on Saturday morning, Hundeyin said the Nigerian police have confirmed his arrest.

"He was arrested by the Sierra Leone Police Force, and we are working on extradition of him to Nigeria," he said.

Details of his arrest are still sketchy at the time of filling this report.

Earlier, the Lagos State Police Command had declared Nnanyereugo wanted for the death of his girlfriend.

The police, in a statement, said Nnanyereugo was suspected to have murdered the 21-year-old lady on July 13, 2023, in his home at Oral Estate in the Ajah area of the state.

The statement read in part, "Following the exhaustion of all available options to bring him in, he is declared wanted.

The suspect is 26, approximately 5'95'9 ft tall, and hails from Abia State. He is dark in complexion and speaks English, Igbo, and pidgin English fluently.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
