The Edo State House of Assembly has removed Hon. Natasha Osawaru Irobosa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from her position as Minority Leader, marking a significant shift in the chamber’s leadership structure. The announcement, made on Monday, is part of a broader restructuring triggered by recent political defections. Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian, also of the PDP, was similarly stripped of her role as Majority Leader. Meanwhile, Hon. Yekini Idaiye, another PDP lawmaker, lost his position as Chief Whip. Despite the shake-up, PDP lawmakers Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Hon. Maria Edeko have held onto their roles as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively—for now. The changes stem from a letter submitted by Jarret Tenebe, acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, following the defection of four PDP lawmakers to the APC.  Ghanaian Jollof has no flavour – Chef Hilda Baci


Popular chef, Hilda Baci, has joined the Ghanaian jollof vs Nigerian jollof debate.

Baci said Ghanaian jollof, “has no flavour and that Nigerian jollof is better.

The former Guinness World Record holder said she has tasted both Ghanaian and Nigerian jollof and can confirm that Nigerian jollof is the best.

Speaking in the latest episode of the 90s Baby Show, Hilda said, “Nigerian jollof is actually better than Ghanaian jollof.

I’ve been to Ghana and I’ve eaten their jollof. I’ve done a jollof competition with a Ghanaian chef who made his best representation of Ghanaian jollof and I’ve seen the recipes.

But with Nigerian jollof, Nigerians don’t play about flavour.”

Recall that Hilda Baci defeated Ghana’s Leslie Kumordzie to win the Jollof Face-off Competition in 2021.

She received $5,000 prize money for the feat.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
