 Heavy fighting reported between Sudanese army, rival RSF in southern Sudan Fierce clashes were reported Tuesday between the Sudanese army and its rival paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the strategic city of El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan state in southern Sudan. A military source told Anadolu that the army inflicted heavy losses on RSF's troops and equipment, forcing them to flee positions. Witnesses said clashes with heavy weapons erupted in the western areas of El-Obeid in the early hours of Tuesday, but calm was later restored to the city. The RSF is yet to comment on the army’s announcement. The city recently endured intensified artillery shelling by RSF militants, resulting in fatalities and casualties. The army announced Thursday it had cleared the last RSF pockets in Khartoum, after regaining control of the capital’s airport, security headquarters and several neighborhoods in the east and south for the first time since April 2023. Mohbad’s father beg Nigerians for financial assistance to fund DNA test for grandson, Liam


The father of the late singer Mohbad, Mr Joseph Aloba appeals to the public for assistance in funding a DNA test to determine the true paternity of his grandson, Liam.


Highlighting the importance of conducting the DNA test in two different hospitals, Aloba emphasized his inability to accept his grandson, Liam, if the test reveals another man as the biological father.


According to Mohbad's father, “I want Nigerians that are fighting for justice for Mohbad not to get tired, they should please support me because I can’t do it alone.


“They should help me find out what killed my son. And I also want the DNA of his son to be done because I don’t want to accept a bastard child.


“I need help. You know as a father, I have to arrange money for the DNA, and I want the DNA carried out in two separate places. I have spoken to my lawyer."

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
