 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. Arson attack on LG secretariat: We won’t be distracted – Kano Govt
 
Kano State Government says it will not be distracted by the arson attack on Gwale Local Government Area Secretariat, which was razed by hoodlums.

Speaking while inspecting the council secretariat on Saturday, Deputy Governor, Aminu Gwarzo, also warned that legal action will be taken against those found to be behind the incident.

Gwarzo alleged that some unnamed persons wanted to set the state ablaze.

He said, “We are aware of those persons who are hell-bent on creating chaos, hiding behind the Supreme Court upcoming judgement.

“But they will certainly fail because the government of NNPP under Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf is that regime that must ensure peace in Kano.

“They want to show our government in bad light but that would not happen.

“We cannot be distracted by miscreants to abandon our mandate because that is the ultimate goal of those who are creating chaos in Kano. Governor Abba is focused and determined to have his victory no matter what.”

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
