 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school. Arson attack on LG secretariat: We won’t be distracted – Kano Govt
 
Kano State Government says it will not be distracted by the arson attack on Gwale Local Government Area Secretariat, which was razed by hoodlums.

Speaking while inspecting the council secretariat on Saturday, Deputy Governor, Aminu Gwarzo, also warned that legal action will be taken against those found to be behind the incident.

Gwarzo alleged that some unnamed persons wanted to set the state ablaze.

He said, “We are aware of those persons who are hell-bent on creating chaos, hiding behind the Supreme Court upcoming judgement.

“But they will certainly fail because the government of NNPP under Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf is that regime that must ensure peace in Kano.

“They want to show our government in bad light but that would not happen.

“We cannot be distracted by miscreants to abandon our mandate because that is the ultimate goal of those who are creating chaos in Kano. Governor Abba is focused and determined to have his victory no matter what.”
