Florida man arrested for throwing a dog in the dumpster after it's owner died.
55-year-old, Anthony Bellman, has been arrested for aggravated animal cruelty after throwing his neighbor's 16-year-old Shih Tzu in the dumpster behind a Family Dollar store.
On December 14th, Family Dollar workers were shocked and a little afraid when they noticed a moving trash bag in the dumpster. Once they recovered the bag they discovered a little Shih Tzu with a rope around her neck.
This poor little pup's name is Xyla and employees of Family Dollar wasted no time rushing Xyla to a local animal hospital and sharing her heartbreaking story.
Staff at the animal hospital were appalled and immediately informed police of the situation. Local authorities also couldn't believe someone could be so callous and cruel and went after Xyla's abuser.
It wasn't long before security footage was obtained in which you see Bellman taking a black bag from his trunk and thoughtlessly tossing it in the dumpster from several feet away before speeding off.
Detectives tracked the offender's vehicle to a nearby residence where Bellman answered the door in the same clothes he wore while committing this cruel and senseless act.
Bellman had told his family he was taking his deceased neighbor's dog to the humane society, however instead he threw her in a dumpster several feet away.
Fortunately while Xyla is recovering from her ordeal officials are working to find this sweet little girl a loving family to take her in.
