 Umueri Crisis Claim: False, Election to Hold April 8 - Says Anambra East Mayor By Nwegbo Ifeanyi  The Anambra East LG Chairman, Hon. Ifeanyi Chinweze, has denied allegations of a leadership crisis in Umueri General Assembly, calling the statement from Ikenga Umueri Unity Forum " false and misleading. Addressing journalists, Chinweze said Umueri is peaceful, with town union elections scheduled for April 8, 2026. He claimed Ikenga Umueri Unity Forum, which issued the statement, is actually frustrating the election with selfish motives.  He distanced himself, PG Chief John Metchie, and electoral committee chairman Barr. Eugene Aghaebe from the allegations, saying they were innocent. The controversy arose after Chinweze insisted Ikenga should not hold key positions like, Secretary, and Vice President simultaneously since they have president general, considering Umueri's three quarters (Ezi, Ikenga, and Invite). Religious Leaders Urged To Assist members 

Religious leaders have been urged to assist members of the congregation at this time of need to enable them celebrate Christmas at ease.

The Founder ,House of Prayer Assembly, Pastor Joseph Omorinoye made the call during the distribution of   rice to church members as Christmas gift in Ilorin ,the Kwara state capital.

He said the surprised  gift of over one thousand two hundred bags of 10 kg  rice to his  members would serve as  a relief to them.

Pastor Omorinoye  appealed to the clerics, religious leaders and  founders to always empower their members to make them self reliant.

The cleric said  members deserved to be taken care of and not only asking them for projects money.

He ,also called on christians in the country to use the period of the celebrations to pray for the nation and seek God's intervention.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
