 Court asked to extend sentence of Nicholas Prosper The Court of Appeal has been asked to review the sentence of a teenager who killed three members of his family and planned a school shooting. Nicholas Prosper, 19, has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 49 years for murdering his mother, brother and sister in Luton last year. The bodies of Juliana Falcon, 48, Kyle Prosper, 16, and Giselle Prosper, 13, were found at their home in the Leabank Court tower block in September. The government’s solicitor general has referred the case to appeal after multiple referrals including one from a Conservative MP who argued that Prosper should have received a whole life order instead, which would mean he would never be released from jail. The Attorney General’s Office had received requests to reconsider Prosper’s sentence under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme.  𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗢𝗳 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗢𝗳 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆, 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝘆𝗼 𝗡𝗻𝗲𝗯𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲 𝗢𝗳 𝟲𝟭


Anayo Nnebe (born in 1963) popularly known as Ichele Awka, served as the Speaker of the Anambra State Assembly from 2007 to 2011.


He is from Umuokpu Village, Awka in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.


In 2015, he was elected to represent Awka North and South Federal Constituency under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).


In April 2018, Nnebe announced his defection from the PDP to the All Progressives Grand Alliance and contested again to represent Awka North and South Federal Constituency but lost to PDP. 


Before his death, he was an appointee of the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo on Legislative Matters.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
