 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

Zulum Mourns the Passing of Spokesperson  Isa Gusau


The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has expressed deep sorrow at the passing of his spokesperson, Malam Isa Gusau.


In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman Tar, says late Isa died on Thursday eleveth, January 2024 in India after a protracted illness. 


Governor Zulum, expressed that the entire Borno State government mourns the loss of a dedicated public servant and a cherished member of the team.


According to the statement, Zulum had made personal contact with the family of the deceased, and equally extends condolences to friends and associates, particularly members of the media industry.


"Mallam Isa Gusau was admired by everyone for his commitment to the people of Borno State and his exceptional professionalism in his role. He was a tireless advocate for the state and worked tirelessly to communicate the government's initiatives and policies to the public with clarity and transparency," Zulum said.


It adds that Isa Gusau will be remembered for his passion for serving the people of Borno State and his dedication to the betterment of the state.  


"His exceptional communication skills played a crucial role in fostering understanding and cooperation between the government and the people."


The Governor prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Isa Gusau and also prayed that Allah gives his family and other loved ones the strength to bear the irreparable loss.


Isa Gusau, who served as the Special Adviser on Public Relations and Strategy to Governor Zulum since June 2019, had also served in the same capacity under Senator Kashim Shettima when he was the Governor of Borno.
