 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  AFCON: ‘If Nigeria wins trophy, we are dead, we can’t allow them’ – Ghana’s Kwadwo Sheldon laments


Ghanaian YouTube personality and content creator, Bernard Kwadwo Amoafo, also known as Kwadwo Sheldon, has insisted they cannot allow Nigeria’s Super Eagles to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to Sheldon, if Nigeria wins the AFCON trophy, Ghanaians are ‘dead’.

He spoke immediately after Nigeria defeated Angola 1-0 in the AFCON quarter-final on Friday.

“Congratulations to Nigerians, they are through to the semi-final of the Africa Cup of Nations,” Sheldon said in a video post via his X account.

“The way the thing they go is like they go win the trophy (sic).

“I dey come tell you people that we can’t allow Nigerians to win the Africa Cup of Nations because if they win the Africa Cup of Nations we are dead. We are gone, he added.

“Jellof rice they no fit cook see how they are dragging it with us.

“Imagine they add AFCON trophy and Afrobeat. The internet wouldn’t be able to contain us,” he lamented.
