 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary.  Oyo suspended traditional ruler over links to illegal miners – Commissioner


The Oyo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade has revealed the rationale behind the suspension of one of the traditional rulers in the state. 

The state governor had earlier announced the suspension of the Onido of Ido, Oba Gbolagade Muritala Babalola.

Oyelade in a statement issued on Friday, said that the traditional ruler was suspended over links with illegal miners in the state.

Oyelade noted that the state government will hit hard at anyone, no matter how highly placed, who contravenes the law.

He said the state government took the tough measure to send signals to those aiding and abetting criminals within the state that they are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Oyelade said, “In the light of our recent experience and government daily efforts to rid our land of criminals, we are sending the signal to all like-minded elements to vacate our zone or be caught and brought to justice.”
