 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting.  Regha slams Peter Obi for travelling to Cote d'Ivoire to watch Super Eagles' match


Controversial influencer Daniel Regha has taken to social media to criticize Peter Obi for attending the Super Eagles match in Ivory Coast.

Regha questioned the necessity of Obi’s trip, especially amidst ongoing crises in Nigeria, including in Obi’s home state of Anambra.

Regha argued that politicians like Obi should prioritize addressing national issues rather than attending sporting events.

He suggested that such events should be attended by entertainers and influencers, not politicians responsible for governance.

Expressing his disapproval, Regha commented,

“Peter Obi is currently in Ivory Coast to do what exactly? Travelling all the way to watch the Super Eagles while Nigeria is currently in crisis, including Anambra State.”

Public figures who should be at the stadium are entertainers and influencers, not politicians who should be fixing the nation. This is nothing but a PR move. Misplaced priorities.”
