  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. THE NEW AFRICA CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR MYCOTOXIN AND FOOD SAFETY FUT MINNA IS POISED TO REDUCE CASES OF CANCER  IN NIGERIA.


The Director Africa Centre of Excellence for Mycotoxin and Food Safety Federal University of Technology Minna Niger state Professor Hussaini Anthony Makun has expressed optimism that the commissioning of  the centre will helped to reduce current increase in cases of cancer and other diceases in Nigeria.


He stated this after the commissioning of the multi million naira edifice at the Gidan Kwano campus of FUT Minna.


Professor Hussaini Anthony explained that already masters and phd students from twelve African countries are currently on capacity building and research using the state of the earth equipments at the centre to prevent and control any poison from our food.


According to him mycotoxin are those harmful substances that causes cancer of the liver and kidney diseases which the centre is poised to removing all forms of antibiotics from our grains through the use of I C P E O S and PCR machines.


On the issue of African students coming to the university Professor Hussaini Anthony explained that the way media blows issue of insecurity scares students from other countries to come to the university and called for a change of attitude.


He said while the centre is partnering with Standard Organization of Nigeria,NAFDAC will also benefit from their researches for maximum benefit.


About one million naira was expended for the construction and equiping of Africa Center of Excellence for Mycotoxin and Food Safety by the Federal Government facilitated by World Bank under the facilitation of National Universities Commission NUC. 


The remodelled FUT gate which was executed through the support of the Vice Chancellor Prof Faruk Adamu Kuta was commissioned by representative of Niger state Governor Mohammed Umar Bago the state Head of Service Alh Abubakar Salisu.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
