 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school.  Budget padding: Senate to review Ningi’s suspension – Akpabio


Senate President Godswill Akpabio has revealed that the Senate is set to recall Senator Abdul Ningi from his three-month suspension.


He disclosed this while answering questions from reporters on arrival from the Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.


Akpabio said the Senate will soon review the three-month suspension it slammed on Ningi for claiming that the 2024 budget was allegedly padded with the sum of N3.7 trillion.


 Ningi had on Thursday, in a letter written by his counsel, Femi Falana SAN, requested reinstatement to the Senate.


Akpabio pointed out that even though he had not seen the letter, the matter would be resolved like a family affair.


He said: “It is a parliamentary decision. I have not seen the letter yet. But Senator Ningi is one of us. I mean, what is suspension?”
