 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) has felicitated Prof Barth Nnaji, a renowned academic, visionary leader and former Minister of Power on the momentous occasion of the inauguration of the $800 million Geometric Power Plant in Aba, Abia State.


Prof Nnaji’s unwavering commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions in Nigeria is exemplified by the successful completion of the Geometric Power Plant, a monumental milestone not only for Aba but for the entire nation, a statement by FOSAD said.


The Forum noted that this state-of-the-art facility stands as a demonstration of his dedication to fostering economic growth and development in the South East geopolitical zone.


FOSAD said it recognized Prof Nnaji’s remarkable contributions to the energy sector, particularly in promoting clean and reliable power generation infrastructure.


It noted that under Nnaji’s leadership, the Geometric Power Plant is poised to revolutionize the energy landscape in Aba, spurring industrial growth, creating job opportunities, and improving the quality of life for countless residents.
