 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  MRS SOLUDO MARKS WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION AT OJOTO IDEMILI SOUTH LGA

The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo has charged women to train their children to become better assets to the society.


Mrs Soludo gave the charge during the Women's Day Celebration held at Idemili South Local Government Area Headquarters in Ojoto.


While commending the women for their roles in families and society, she urged them to make use of the free education to empower their children in education.


Mrs Soludo who advised women to ensure that they maintain peaceful homes, condenmed the attitude of some adolescents who take dangerous drugs, urging all to join hands and save young people from mental problems caused by drug abuse in the interest of the society.


The governor's wife also charged all to eat natural foods to be healthy in order to contribute to the development of the society.


She described Gov. Soludo as a man of his words, noting that from next week the governor will change gear to accelerate higher in the development of the state.


In a speach, the state Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji reminded them of the healthy living programme with Mrs Soludo and commended the governor for carrying women along in his government.


He thanked Mrs Soludo for her interest in supporting women of his local government and promised her of the support of Ndi Idemili.


Speaking on the theme of this year's women day "Invest in women and accelerate development", Commissioner Onyenji challenged women to engage in various skills to improve their economy.


The member representing Idemili South, at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Ebuka Igwe while thanking the governor's wife for her coming, assured her that they will continue to support her and husband.


He congratulated women, saying that womanhood comes with lots of responsibilities.


Welcoming the guest, the Transition Committee Chairman (TCC), Idemili South Local Government Area, Mrs Amaka Obi said that the event was to mark international women's day though celebrated on 8th of March.


She commended the governor's wife for her good works which encouraged the women to continue to remain in All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) party.


The TC Chairman, gave Gov. Soludo kudos for his numerous developmental programmes and projects in the state.


Mrs Obi also intimated them about the free antenatal in all the government hospitals in addition to free education in the state, urging the women to access the programmes for their children.


On his part, the APGA Chairman, Idemili South, Mr. Kizito Anoliefo thanked Gov. Soludo for his efforts in safeguarding Ndi Anambra and urged him to continue.


He also informed Mrs Soludo that APGA Idemili South has never lost any election and urged them to give Idemili South more appointments as a way of appreciation and encouragement.


The highlight of the event was the commissioning of the Traditional Rulers Secretariat at the Idemili South Headquarters, Ojoto.
