 Sudan war: Army says it inflicts heavy losses on RSF in Darfur, Kordofan Sudan’s army on Friday said that it inflicted heavy losses on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) during a series of air and ground operations carried out over the past week in the Darfur and Kordofan regions. In a statement, the military said its forces conducted strikes against RSF positions, destroying around 240 combat vehicles and killing hundreds of fighters, Anadolu Agency reported. The army said the operations also targeted what it described as RSF logistical and operational facilities, including drone-related sites and storage areas, as well as locations at Nyala Airport in South Darfur. It added that ground forces had succeeded in pushing RSF fighters out of wide areas in both Darfur and Kordofan, and that operations were ongoing to pursue remaining elements.  EFCC Arrests Two for Currency Racketeering in Enugu

 

Operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested the duo of Nweke Daniel Kelechi and Iroude Chibuzor in connection with alleged currency racketeering of N850, 000. 00 (Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira).

 

They were arrested by members of the Special Task Force of the Commission attached to the Enugu Zonal Command of the EFCC on Sunday, May 26, 2024 during a sting operation around United Bank for Africa (UBA), ESBS, Enugu State, following days of surveillance and actionable intelligence.

 

During the sting operation, Chibuzor was initially arrested. Upon investigation, it was discovered that he was working for Kelechi, who authorised him to sell new Naira notes.

 

The suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
