In a first for Indian Railways, an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) has been successfully tested inside a train coach.  The trial took place on Tuesday inside an air-conditioned coach of the Panchavati Express, which runs daily between Manmad in Nashik and Mumbai. This ATM facility is part of a joint effort by the Bhusawal division of Indian Railways and the Bank of Maharashtra. The ATM worked smoothly during the journey, with only minor interruptions when the train passed through the no-network zone between Igatpuri and Kasara, an area known for its tunnels. Despite the short signal losses, the ATM continued to function well and served its purpose. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video of the ATM on social media, calling it the first of its kind in India. This unique idea came from a meeting under the Innovative and Non-Fare Revenue Ideas Scheme (INFRIS) by the Bhusawal division. Divisional Railway Manager Ity Pandey said the proposal was quickly taken forward...

Merger: Obi Meeting With Kwankwaso, Others Ahead Of 2027 –Dr Yusuf Tanko

Dr Yusuf Tanko, the former spokesperson of Peter Obi Presidential campaign in the 2023 elections, has said that former Anambra governor has been meeting with political gladiators in the country, including the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Tanko stated this during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.

He said that Nigerians needed a merger in 2027 that would take them out of the woods.

Tanko said, ā€œObi has been meeting with owners of industries, technocrats, students and political gladiators.

ā€œThere are quiet a number of them that have been reached out to, for example Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who is a good political gladiator. We had met with him.

ā€œWe had meetings with different individuals and political parties like SDP and ADC. Most of the political parties will be reached out to. They are already having meetings among themselves.

ā€œYou need to have a conglomerate of grounded political parties who are interested in getting Nigeria out of the wood.ā€

However, a former federal lawmaker, Tajjuddeen Yusuf, says he does not see the possibilty of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar merging with Obi in 2027.

He said, ā€œThey worked together in 2019. It would not be out of place if they work together again. However, I don’t see their minds, but I don’t see the possibility.

ā€œThey met few days ago. After the meeting, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar came out to say that he would continue to contest as long as he is alive and healthy.

ā€œTo me, that was to send the signal to especially the people who may have the notion that he would step down for Obi. A statement a week later clarified that. I believe both Atiku and Obi will contest.ā€
