 Al Qaeda-linked insurgents establish check points around capital, call on Malians to rise up Al Qaeda-linked insurgents have called on Malians to ‌rise up against the military-led government and transition to Sharia law, as multiple security sources said the group had set up checkpoints around the capital and seized a northern town. The latest incidents come just days after Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) launched unprecedented assaultsacross the country ​on April 25 in coordination with the Tuareg-dominated rebel group the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA). Bases throughout the landlocked African ​country and near the capital Bamako were hit in those attacks, which killed Mali's defence minister. ⁠The town of Kidal was also seized.  Pochettino leaves Chelsea on mutual consent


Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly left Chelsea by mutual consent after meeting with sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali over the course of two days.

 Pochettino agreed to his departure with Chelsea late on Tuesday morning, following the club’s end-of-season review that started on Monday.

“Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea part ways with immediate effect. Chelsea and Pochettino have already agreed on terms, as @Matt_Law_DT reports.

“Chelsea will consider a young manager as a priority to replace Pochettino,” he wrote.
