 Former Super Eagles coach Christian Chukwu dies at 74 A former captain and head coach of the Super Eagles, Christian Chukwu, is dead. He was 74. The football legend reportedly passed away in the early hours of Saturday though the exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear as of the time of filing this report. His longtime teammate and friend, Dr. Olusegun Odegbami, confirmed the development.. Odegbami, who won the 1980 Africa Nation Cup with Chukwu, said: “I just received the news that between 9:00 and 10:00 this morning, ‘Chairman’ Christian Chukwu, MFR, my bosom friend and teammate, one of the greatest football players in Nigeria’s history, has passed on. “Babuje, Emmanuel Okala, MON, gave me the sad news a few minutes ago.  Social media outburst: Wizkid going through pain of losing mum – Yul Edochie


Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has claimed that singer Wizkid’s recent social media outburst was due to the pain of losing his mother.


Wizkid set social media platform, X on fire recently after shading Don Jazzy and engaging in a heated exchange with Davido.


Reacting, Edochie stated that the Starboy Entertainment boss’ outburst was due to psychological issues.


Speaking in a video message shared via his Instagram page, the actor said: “Many people would not understand what is happening to Wizkid. But I will tell you, it’s the pain of losing his mother.


“Wizkid is going through the pain of losing his mother. It’s a terrible pain. You see that pain of losing a loved one? It’s a terrible pain. It’s a pain that would make you question God. It’s a pain that would make you question life. It’s a pain that would make you throw caution to the wind. It’s a pain that would make you sometimes want to even take your life.


“It’s a pain that would make you sometimes become even disrespectful and just say a lot of things. Its a pain that would even make you question your existence. You lose your mother and you lose your sanity. It’s a terrible pain. And that’s what is happening to Wizkid.


“Unfortunately, we live in a world that would even gibe you more pain than love.”


 Wizkid’s mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, died on August 18, 2023 in London.


The singer said the pain of losing his mum ‘hurts deeply’. He said, “The pain is profound.”

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
