 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  25 Persons Killed In Kano-Kaduna Highway Accident


The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says at least 25 persons died in an accident that occurred along the Kano-Kaduna highway on Monday.


In a statement, Olusegun Ogungbemide, the corps’ public education officer, said the accident occurred around 3:15am and involved a trailer conveying about 90 persons. 


“However, FRSC emergency and rescue team was able to rescue 12 persons without injury from the crash,” the statement reads.


“The rescued victims have been taken to the Murtala Muhammad Specialist hospital in Kano for proper medical attention.”


He added that the truck driver has been arrested and handed over to the police for investigation and possible prosecution.


Shehu Mohammed, FRSC corps marshal, urged traditional and religious leaders to support the corps in the campaign against conveying humans, goods and animals together in articulated vehicles.
