 “No electricity, no vote,” South Africans threaten to shun ruling party ANC Residents in Katlehong, a township outside Johannesburg, have resolved to boycott South Africa's upcoming local elections on November 4 due to long-standing failures by authorities to provide basic services like electricity. For over 20 years, around 180 households in the community have relied on illegal electrical connections pulled from neighboring areas to power their homes. Angry over the lack of formal grid infrastructure, residents are directing their frustration at the ruling African National Congress (ANC). "We have made a collective decision: no electricity, no vote," said community leader Lesiba Rankapole, 59. "We know it is illegal, but we had no choice because we cannot live without electricity.  Rapper Vector reacts as Burna Boy denies receiving gifts from Wike, other politicians


Popular rapper, Vector Tha Viper, has reacted to Grammy-winning singer, Burna Boy’s recent claim that he has never received political favours.


Recall that ex-Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State had in 2021 announced he would give a plot of land and cash to Burna Boy as appreciation for winning the Grammy Award.


However, in a statement in his X handle on Thursday, Burna Boy suggested that Wike didn’t fulfill his promise to him after he won the Grammy.


He wrote: “No politician has ever given anything. Go ask wike where the land him give me or which money him give me. You think I’m your faves.”


Reacting to Burna Boy’s post, Vector said, “Plenty matter no dey full basket.”
