 Suswam Declares For Senate Former Benue State Governor and ex-Senator Gabriel Suswam has formally declared he will contest the Benue North-East Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform. “Benue State, since I started politics in 1998, is a place where the people believe in one party,” he said. “Benue State for its first 16 years was completely a PDP state. And then subsequently after that, they moved to the APC.” “As a Benue son, I won’t be an exception to what my people want and what my people believe. They now believe in the principles and philosophy of the APC,” he added. On his 2027 ambition, the two-term former governor left no room for doubt: “I’m a politician. And as a politician, if you are still strong enough to contest an election, you always want to contest elections. The only election that I can contest now is the Senate.   It Was Not Us, IMF Denies Advising Nigeria To Stop Fuel Subsidy


The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says the Nigerian Government decided to remove fuel subsidy and not an advice from the body. 


IMF’s African Region Director Abebe Selassie said this on Friday at a briefing on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings in Washington DC, US.


“The decision was a domestic one. We don’t have programmes in Nigeria. Our role is limited to regular dialogue, as we have with other nations like Japan or the UK,” he said.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
