A Pennsylvania man, identified as 49-year-old Benjamin Garcia Gual, has been arrested after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, Carmen Martinez-Silva, to death following an argument about her new hairstyle. Police apprehended Benjamin at the crime scene, where he was found holding a blood-stained knife, alongside Carmen’s body and two other individuals who were also injured. He now faces charges of homicide, attempted murder, and aggravated assault.

The incident reportedly began when Benjamin expressed intense displeasure over Carmen’s recent haircut, which led to a verbal altercation. According to WHTM-TV, Carmen sensed Benjamin’s anger and left their home, fearing for her safety. She initially sought refuge at her daughter’s residence before deciding to stay with her brother and end the relationship. Her daughter later told authorities that Benjamin had even threatened to stab Carmen over her hairstyle.

Despite being informed that Carmen did not wish to see him, Benjamin showed up at her brother’s home, determined to confront her. When Carmen’s brother answered the door, Benjamin allegedly began stabbing him. Carmen rushed to intervene, but Benjamin turned his aggression toward her, repeatedly stabbing her in a brutal attack. Another individual who attempted to intervene was also injured in the struggle.

By the time police arrived, Carmen had already succumbed to her injuries. Authorities took the knife into custody as evidence, while Carmen’s brother, who sustained multiple stab wounds, was rushed to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive. Benjamin is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
