NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. 'GO BACK TO YOUR STATE', 'I'LL GIVE YOY JOB ABROAD'- REACTIONS AS NURSE CLAIMS LAGOS SMELLS. (PHOTO).

‘Go back to your state’ | ‘I’ll give you job abroad’ — reactions as nurse claims Lagos smells

An X user simply identified as Nurse Ugbede has sparked mixed reactions on the microblogging platform after allegedly calling Lagos and its residents “smelly”.

“This Lagos is a smelly city. People smell, the streets smell, and the gutters smells, the water smells, everything is smelly. I’m tired,” the tweet allegedly reads.

The post generated mixed reactions from Nigerians. While some users defended her right to express her opinion, others criticised her for being “disrespectful to the city and its residents”.

One user identified as Bayo slammed Ugbede over her comments, calling them “public ridicule”.

The user also drew the attention of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos governor, to the remark.

“Dear Lagos government, you’re leaving the lives and economy of Lagos in the hands of people that hate their employers,” the user wrote.

“If @jidesanwoolu and @mudashiru_obasa will not start demanding respect from people that are taking jobs away from aboriginals, we will also not stop adding external LEGAL pressure until we get the desired respect.”

Dear @followlasg

This lady @nurse_ugbede that you have empowerered over Aworis, Ìjẹ̀bús, Ẹ̀gbás, Ilajes and other Yorùbás in Lagos has now spat over your face. You’re leaving the lives and economy of Lagos in the hands of people that haate their employers.

Ugbede, who is believed to be working at the general hospital in Gbagada, also alleged that she has been facing “attacks” since Sunday.

My sister. The attack on me has not been small since yesterday

However, another X user @Elkrosmediahub offered Ugbede a job abroad if she lost her current one due to the backlash.

“So one of my Oga asked me to reach out to you. Just in case anything happens to your job, and you are willing to work in another country, kindly notify,” the user wrote.

Hi @nurse_ugbede, trust you are having a beautiful morning.

So one of my Oga asked me to reach out to you. Just in case anything happens to your job, and you are willing to work in another country, kindly notify.

Several other users aired their opinions on the matter.

A user said: “Leave smelly Lagos to your sweet smelly state. Lagos will not even notice her absence.”

Exactly our point, leave smelly Lagos to your sweet smelly state.

Lagos will not even notice her absent.

“Go get it girl! Don’t let anyone bully you! So long as you’re a taxpayer here in Lagos, your opinion counts like mad,” another user added.
