 Lagos Assembly Denies Awarding N17bn Gate Contract The Lagos State House of Assembly has dismissed as baseless allegations made by an anti-corruption group that it awarded a N17 billion contract for the construction of its gate. In a statement issued on Thursday, Mr. Stephen Ogundipe, Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Security, and Strategy, clarified that the project in question was completed over three years ago and that no recent gate construction had taken place. The Lagos State Anti-Corruption Coalition had recently written to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), requesting an investigation into the alleged contract. Ogundipe labeled the petition as frivolous and politically motivated, designed to tarnish the reputation of the Assembly. He emphasized that although the Assembly has its own procurement unit, it follows the state government's official procurement process from start to finish. Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo has written a note to her son


Taking to her Instagram page to share photos of her with him, she stated that she might drive him crxzy, annoy and nag him, and ask too many questions, but no one will cheer louder, show up faster, have his back, or love him as she does.


The mother of two went on to affirm her love for her.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
