 Florida mom "smirks" during court appearance after drowning her 14-year-old daughter. As Osceola County Deputies arrived at a home in Poinciana, Florida on Wednesday (November 20th), they were stunned at the shocking situation they found themselves in. The emergency call was for an assault.  33-year-old Kelsie Glover was chasing and attempting to attack her daughter and roommate. After officers intervened and restrained Glover, the broken hearted witnesses began to share the horrors they saw.  According to the witnesses, Kelsie Glover had "held her 14-year-old daughter's head underwater in the bathtub until she became unresponsive". They went on to share that "Glover attacked them with a hammer when they tried to stop her". Deputies rushed to the 14-year-olds aid, later identified as Giselle Glover, and desperately attempted to render life saving measures. Unfortunately, Giselle was pronounced deceased at the hospital.  Nigeria Battle Tunisia, South Africa To Face Ghana In Women’s AFCON


The Super Falcons of Nigeria have been drawn against Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana in Group B of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).


Nigeria, record holders of the competition, will be aiming to extend their impeccable form in the tournament.


The draws for the 2025 edition of the women’s tournament were held on Friday.


“We have been drawn in Group B alongside Algeria, Tunisia, and Botswana for the Morocco 2024 CAF Women’s African Cup of Nations,” the Super Falcons wrote on their X handle on Friday.


“This promises to be an exciting challenge for us as we aim to reclaim our continental glory.”


Nigeria defeated Algeria 6-1 on aggregate in a double-header friendly game played in the West African nation.


They finished a disappointing fourth in the last edition of the competition but have won the WAFCON nine times.


The Super Falcons will take on France on November 30th in a friendly game.


In Group A, Morocco, the host nation will take on Zambia, Senegal, and DRC Congo while defending champions South Africa were pitted against Ghana, Mali, and Tanzania.


The tournament will begin on July 2025.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
