Trump issues pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer after insider trading conviction    President Donald Trump has issued a full pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer, who served nearly two years in prison after being convicted of insider trading tied to post-congressional consulting work. Buyer was sentenced in 2023 to 22 months in prison for illegal stock trades made while working as a consultant and lobbyist. He was ordered to forfeit more than $350,000 in ill-gotten gains and pay a $10,000 fine. He was released from custody in 2025 after his conviction was upheld, with the Supreme Court declining to take up his appeal earlier this year.  Adamawa Police Prosecute 292 Out of 715 Criminal Suspects in 2024


The Adamawa State Police Command has successfully prosecuted 292 of the 715 suspects arrested for various crimes between January and December 2024. The arrested individuals faced charges including armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, and culpable homicide.


 Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, highlighted that these prosecutions were a result of deliberate efforts to combat crime in the state, such as community policing, operational patrols, and quick response to distress calls. Speaking at a year-end press briefing, CP Morris reiterated his commitment to reducing crime in the state, a promise he made upon assuming office in February 2024.
