 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable.  Bandits Kidnap Former House of Reps Member Joseph Haruna Kigbu


On Monday evening, bandits abducted Joseph Haruna Kigbu, a former member of the House of Representatives, while he was en route to Jos.


The incident took place around 6:00 p.m. between Nunku in Akwanga Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, and Gwantu in Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State.


During the attack, the assailants killed the police escort assigned to Dr. Kigbu, who had tried to thwart the abduction.


A source reported that the bandits fired their weapons indiscriminately, causing widespread panic among motorists in the area.


Local residents confirmed that the incident occurred in a region known for frequent criminal activities.


Efforts to reach the spokesman for the Nasarawa State Police Command for confirmation were unsuccessful, as calls went unanswered at the time of this report.
